Travelogue and layover
November 13, 2024
I've never been across seas before. If I'm being honest, it felt like something that would never happen for me except for maybe visiting china one day after years of saving up. I remember being a teenager and feeling jealous of my classmates who had the opportunity to travel to europe via the school or on their own - it was very weird position to be in knowing how much more i was thinking about money than [what seemed like] everybody else.
Clouds are beautiful. I've been amazed by them since my first flight ever, which was paid for by an academic youth summit that I'm kind of embarrassed in participating now... Now I have somehow built a semi-sustainable art career where I am able to see all these beautiful places that I've never been before. Being indulgent and enjoying my trip liesurely is not something that can happen all the time, but I am glad that I'm able to do so with this trip. It's exciting to be in an entirely different side of the world, with different foods and different cultures. ^_^
We crossed the Arctic Ocean and moved into time zone after time zone, going North East rather than East. I forgot that most of Europe was in a whole other latitude! Even after the scheduled sunrise (7:55) there was still no sun! (I also forgot to bring Vitamin D pills rip...) Up until today, I didn't realize planes could be so big. Each row could fit 9 people, and the ceilings were so high! I was seated right in the middle seat of the middle row so there wasn't much to look at, but when we landed in Amsterdam (it was still so dark! ( ・ั﹏・ั)), I could sea all the glittering light from the city.
There has been a beautiful dutch girl that I've been anticipating meeting since I booked my tickets. She is beautiful, kind, and playful and I even got my nails done for her (another first!) Her name is Miffy! of Njinte if you're Dutch! She's sweet little bunny, and she was at a couple of shops in the Amsterdam airport. I'll be spending the next 4 hours at the airport, not sure if I'll buy anything since my bage is pretty full, but maybe on the way back. Fingers crossed that Thought Bubble is fruitful for me!
(Also, I have just realised that I have written many entries but have not sent them out! I am actually currently spending my last morning in Edinburgh and will schedule the rest of my Scotland emails for later today! oops!)
